Jonathan Antonio
As a current member of the Senate Finance Committee and Chair of Athletics Committee, Ive been given the opportunity to see our current financial situation in its entirety. Simply put, the reason I am running is to give money back to the students. I will
  • decrease the amount of wasted funds by 65%
  • introduce legislation to better allocate funds
  • change budget forms to include 1st and 2nd semester allocations
  • improve the efficiency of the comptroller
  • open lines of communication between students and SG

    My Platform focuses on three tenants: Keep students informed, use treasury effectively, ensure that organizations have a line of communication with the treasurer's office. To ensure that these three things are met my platform consists of five pieces:
  • Carolina Coins: article submitted to gamecock to inform students of how their funds are being used
  • Treasurer's Workshop: continue the 2 per semester
  • Personal Conferences: organization treasurer's meet with me one on one. They should do this once per semester.
  • Continue Treasury Tracking
  • Advisory Committee: looks over budget request and advises teachers on books

    Accountability is a factor that is not always evident in Student Government. I would like to bring it back. I will not be self-serving, nor negligent to our principles. I have a leadership resume that speaks volumes of experience and results. As Student Government Treasurer, I will:
  • Ensure accuracy and efficiency in the usage of Student Activities Fees
  • Provide resources for the recruitment, retention, and sustaining of new and current student organizations/professional affiliations
  • Serve as a buffer and remedy between student organizations and student government
  • Enhance the 'Carolina Experience' of transfer students and their acclamation of
